Gather is a brand new lit mag publishing poets on Instagram + Substack. So you don't have to choose between a banger on the gram and a published poem. We are a social lit mag and we publish collaboratively to share our online reach with you.

We publish four poems/month on our Instagram @gatherpoets. Two from our Gather Community, and two from our general submissions.

We're excited as heck about this, and we hope you are too!

Every year, we try to highlight some up-and-coming lit mags that were founded in the past year. The lit mag world is ever-changing, and the scene is always shifting to include more and more amazing, diverse publications. For 2025, these are the 20 new magazines (not that it was easy to decide!) we think everyone should keep an eye on.

Fall Submissions

This is the form to use for General Submitters (non-Gather members). It's always open.
Please send one poem only. We want your best.
We accepted previously uncurated work. Published on personal social media sites is fine. 
Simultaneous submissions are fine. No need to mention it; however, please use the Withdraw button in Submittable to withdraw your poem if it's accepted elsewhere.
We typically publish poems with no more than 30 lines for formatting purposes online.
If we have declined your submission, you may submit again in one month.
General Submissions: Response time is 1-2 months
EXPEDITED response: 1 week (10 business days) (Please use the Expedited option below).
We pay $35 CAD per poem and purchase First Electronic Rights and First North American Rights. We interview all poets on our Substack and occasionally invite selected poets on our Gather Poets Podcast.
