We print in black and white; therefore, art in conducive mediums, such as pencil or charcoal, would be most suitable. We encourage, but not restrict, subject matter that expresses an agrarian aesthetic. We would also appreciate art which epitomizes the unique cultural spirit of Floyd.

    We aspire to publish quality literature in the Local Color genre, specifically writing that relates to Floyd and the New River Valley. Floyd and local Appalachian authors are given priority consideration; however, to stay versatile we also aspire to publish some writers from all around the country in every issue. All contributors are paid with a free contributor’s copy.
