Florescence is a youth-led multimedia magazine dedicated to amplifying underrepresented voices, highlighting the journeys and works of rising and renowned creatives, and encouraging youth to express themselves through literature and art. Our Visual Art &amp; Writing contest “Artists Against AI: Championing Humanity’s ‘Flaws’” is officially OPEN for submissions!! 💻🎨⭐️<div><br></div><div>We are looking for works that are anti-AI. Submissions should be using their creations to talk about generative AI and how it has affected them, or make social commentary about generative AI’s impacts. This can include commentary about AI in the creator space, something that embodies and compares real art with AI (e.g. personal experience, emotions, creativity), or protesting against effects of AI usage.<div><br></div><div>Servers that maintain generative AI platforms reach high temperatures; to cool them down, clean water is drained into these facilities, often taking away clean drinking water from remote areas. To combat this, we will donate funds received from this contest to WaterAid, an international non-profit organization dedicated to bringing clean water and hygiene to communities in need. </div></div>

Artists Against AI: Championing Humanity's Flaws

The Glass Ceiling acts as a symbol of the invisible barriers that continue to limit women's voices, opportunities, and freedom. From gender based discrimination and unequal expectations to underrepresentation in leadership, media, politics, this theme invites contributors to examine the systems that suppress women and perpetuate inequality. It can encourage discussions on deep rooted misogyny in society, entitlement, intersectionality, allyship, and the individuals and movements challenging these barriers. <div><br></div><div>Through stories, essays, poetry, and art, this issue aims to spark conversations about power, justice, and the ongoing fight for gender equality.</div>
