pitch us (speaking)!
<div>We’re getting into speaker events where we would like a writer, curator, educator, or artist to give a short talk on one artist of their choosing. If you’d like to submit a pitch for a speaker event, use the form here.

</div><div>pitch us (writing)!
</div><div>You can pitch us a short review to run in this newsletter by emailing pitches@exhibitsinnewyork.com. Successful pitches are typically 100-200 words.

</div><div>WE’RE LOOKING FOR:
</div><div>Writing that makes unique observations about a show. Perspectives we haven’t seen discussed elsewhere. Ideas worth developing, context worth considering, and affect (your gut response) worth exploring.
</div><div>
</div><div>WE’RE AVOIDING:
</div><div>Writing that could be confused for a press release.
</div><div>
</div><div>notes on pitches
</div><div>We’re not able to accept pitches about shows that you haven’t yet seen. So, if you’re eager to write about an exhibit, head to the show first and send us a pitch afterwards.
</div><div>
</div><div>The exhibit you pitch will ideally close in no less than three weeks. This will leave us time for edits and still give readers ~two weeks to visit a show after they’ve read your review.
</div><div>
</div><div>Though not required, we recommend including 1-2 links to previous writing.
</div><div>
</div><div>Please include the show’s closing date in your pitch email.
</div><div>
</div><div>This summer, we’re raising rates and publishing shorter, punchier reviews. We pay $300 for a 300 word review.</div>
