We look for odd time thought provoking flash and micro fiction from the edges of artistic expression. Be eccentric, unconventional, experimental, innovative. Be weird and wise and filled with non-fluorescent light. Make every word count.

Dog Throat Journal looks for unusual, thought provoking flash fiction, and micro fiction. We want your non-realist, non-normal, risk-taking, odd, offbeat, eccentric, unconventional, experimental, beautiful poetic prose. We look for well crafted articulate pieces with innovative language that dances, work that speaks to themes that outlive the moment, work that may contradict itself, just like human beings do, work that explores and exposes the mysticism of everyday life, work from the edges of artistic expression and freedom. We want work that rises above and defies genre. Be weird and wise and filled with non-fluorescent light. Make every word count.

We don't have eligibility requirements. We welcome everyone from everywhere. All submissions are read anonymously. We do have a space in the submission system to put your profile / bio in the event we select your work for publication, but this information plays no part in the selection process.
