Dandy Magazine exists to tell uniquely Arkansan stories about true grit, natural beauty, and the bitter sweetness of Southern society.

The inaugural issue of Dandy Magazine examined the theme decomposition / recomposition. Death and decay are a part of the natural life cycle, a necessary predicator of the composting process, which turns withered and rotten elements into rich, life sustaining soil. We curated the work of 25 Arkansas writers and artists that best represented our first edition theme, and shows us which parts of the Southern identity have reached their natural ends, creating room for cultural compost.

For our second issue, titled Arktopia, we are inviting Arkansas to co-create a vision of our imminent future. As our state grapples with looming technological revolution, Dandy Magazine wants to publish an issue that confronts these challenges head-on. We're seeking submissions in the vein of speculative fiction and related genres. For more details, please visit our Instagram page @dandy_mag_ .
