Texas newspaper covering regional news, politics, business, and culture, with reported features and commentary. Freelance contributions are typically pitch-driven and coordinated through section editors.

The Dallas Morning News has delivered credible, independent journalism to North Texas for 140 years. Rooted in accuracy, fairness and integrity, we report on the issues that shape daily life — politics and public policy, business and growth, culture and sports, and the stories of our neighborhoods.

As the region’s leading news source, we serve more than 4 million people each week across a full suite of products: the daily print edition, DallasNews.com, our ePaper, mobile apps, newsletters, podcasts and vibrant social channels. Our newsroom’s deep local presence — across Dallas, surrounding counties and the state capital — keeps readers informed on developments that matter locally, statewide and nationally.

Our brand promise is simple: Tell the stories of North Texas with care and clarity, reflect the people who live here and help them navigate their lives. From breaking news and watchdog reporting to service journalism, community features and thoughtful commentary, we strive to strengthen civic life and earn trust every day. Because for the people who wake up to a porch paper, check the ePaper in the school line, or open our website to make sense of their city — this is home.
