A crinkle crankle wall, often found in ancient Egypt and parts of England, was built not in a straight line, but in gentle curves. Its winding form gave it an uncanny beauty along with stability, proving that walls need not be rigid and stiff to stand against the forces of nature. From there, the term 'crinkum-crankum' came about. 
So, we borrowed this name because we believe that literature and art have always followed much the same course—twisting, turning, winding both in and around our lives.
Crinkum Literature is a biyearly retro-style literary magazine devoted to the timeless pleasures of the written word. Within these pages, we gather fiction, poetry, essays, and visual media from both young and seasoned creatives.
We have a fondness for old things; our magazine is a tribute to the retro and vintage magazines of the yesteryear.

We welcome pieces that uncover what lies behind the glamour, exploring the people, myths, scandals, power structures, and performances that have defined the dream factory, all whilst bringing the reader on an unforgettable journey back in time.</div><div><br></div><div><b>DEADLINE:</b> Mid-November (exact date will be added later)</div><div><br></div><div><b>Submission Guidelines:</b></div><div>- Submitters of all ages may submit</div><div>- Must be your original work</div><div>- Strictly no Gen AI or plagiarism </div><div>- Depictions of excessive violence, sex, and gore will not be tolerated</div><div>- Do not include any form of bigotry, including but not limited to racism, sexism, homophobia etc. </div><div>- Simultaneous submissions are allowed.
