Clamor is the University of Washington Bothell’s annual Literary and Arts Journal, representing the best creative practices in literary, visual and media formats from across our campus and the surrounding community.

First published in 2006, Clamor has grown over the years to encompass a full-color print publication showcasing visual and written art, an online publication that includes audio, video, and mixed media, and, since 2017, a piece of limited-edition ephemera in each issue. While our campus does not have dedicated gallery space, over the years we have put on public exhibitions of student work on campus and in the community, and each spring we celebrate our contributors with a public launch party where they share their work.

Welcome to the Creative Writing submission page for Clamor 2026! To ensure as seamless a submission process as possible, please adhere to the following submission guidelines. Pieces not following these guidelines will not be considered.
Written submissions should be in DOC, DOCX, with a maximum length of 1000 words or MAXIMUM of 2 pages, in Times New Roman, 12pt font. 
(Please limit written prose and long-form writing works to 1000 words or less. Please limit poetry to a MAXIMUM of 2 pages.
*You may submit longer than 1000 words (for prose) or 2 pages (for poetry), but please note it will be considered for the web journal due to limited space of the printed journal.*
*If you are submitting a word art piece (ex. concrete poetry), or a poetry work that requires specific formatting, please go back and submit in VISUAL ARTS.*
Please title your file with your last name and an abbreviated work title as follows: account holder's LASTNAME_ABBREVIATEDTITLE.

    Example: Snow Poetry for Winter by John Smith would be submitted as Smith_SnowPoetry.

 We accept docx and doc.

Creative Writing 2026

Welcome to the Audio and Video submission page for Clamor 2026! To ensure as seamless a submission process as possible, please adhere to the following submission guidelines. Pieces not following these guidelines will not be considered.
Your submissions should be in MP3, M4A or WAV format, and maximum length 10 minutes. 
Video submissions should be in MOV, MP4, or MPG format, and not longer than 10 minutes in length.
You must provide captions OR a transcript for your video. If a transcript, please submit it as a PDF alongside the Visual/Audio submission. 

 
Please title your file with your last name and an abbreviated work title as follows: account holder's LASTNAME_ABBREVIATEDTITLE.

     Example: Snow Movie for Winter by John Smith would be submitted as Smith_SnowMovie.

 We accept mp3, m4a, wav, mp4, mov, and mpg files.
For accessibility, all audio and video submissions should include either a text transcript or captions. If you would like to submit, but are having difficulty with providing a text transcript or captions, please reach out to our Clamor editorial board at clamor@uw.edu

Image submissions should be in JPG or TIF format, in the highest resolution available (minimum 300 dpi) and scaled proportionally. GIF, PNG, and images that are not of sufficient resolution for printing will not be considered for inclusion in the print version of Clamor but may still be accepted for the online journal.
If you have an image whose resolution is too low, there are third-party applications and services that will allow you to modify the image to our print standards. If you need assistance, please reach out to the editorial team at clamor@uw.edu.

  Please include a group name and/or individual names and bios/collaborative mission statement.
