Cattails also features a dedicated Youth Corner, highlighting the works of young poets from around the world, and has been recognized for its commitment to embracing modern technologies to reach a global audience.

The publication operates electronically, releasing two issues per year. It is open to a broad audience and accepts submissions via email, with a policy against reprints and simultaneous submissions. The journal does not offer monetary compensation to contributors.

The journal's editors are published and reputable poets who take great care in reading every piece submitted, often offering critical feedback to refine and enhance the work. They evaluate carefully to ensure that the poems considered for publication are original and not copies of previously published work.

While the journal's website does not provide specific information about its masthead, the editor-in-chief is known to be an experienced poet who oversees the editorial process, ensuring the quality and integrity of the journal's content.
