We built this to honor my brother, a writer that we lost to suicide. We are big believers in the power of story. Stories are donated and all proceeds go to mental health and crisis interventions charities. All writing levels welcome

My brother Brian was a writer from an early age. A teacher encouraged him in elementary school, and he never stopped, writing his way through an MFA at Emerson College and beyond. He was never able to make it his livelihood, and self-publishing wasn't what it is today. He believed in the power of stories to connect people. We lost him to suicide in 2011. This project is in his memory and in his honor.

We are trying to do three things here.
The first is to raise funds for mental health and crisis intervention charities. Every dollar that comes in through reader support goes directly to organizations doing work in that space.
The second is to connect writers with new readers. We especially encourage writers who are newer to publication and looking for an audience. Each author gets an author card and a link to where readers can find more of their work.
The third is to give readers a steady stream of short fiction and a sense of belonging to something larger than themselves. We hope the short form encourages people to explore beyond their preferred genres.

We are looking for submissions from everyone. The more points of view the better. Our word count guideline is loose, roughly 2,000 to 7,000 words, and we try to be egalitarian in what we publish. We retain no rights to your work beyond permission to host it on the site, and you can revoke that permission at any time, for any reason. Reprints and simultaneous submissions are welcome.
