Quarterly, print/online poetry journal on intersections of:
queerness, ecology, violence, technology, othering

BlueBird Anthology is a quarterly poetry journal based in Nottingham, Nottinghamshire, established in 2023. The journal focuses on poetry that explores the intersections of five key themes: queerness, ecology, violence, technology, and othering. By delving into these areas, BlueBird Anthology aims to provide a platform for voices that engage with complex and pressing societal issues. The journal accepts unsolicited submissions, encouraging poets to contribute works that resonate with its thematic focus. Submissions are typically open around significant astronomical events, such as the equinoxes and solstices, with releases aligning accordingly. For instance, Issue 1 was released around the Summer Solstice, and Issue 2 was released around the Autumn Equinox. The journal's editorial team is led by River Glade, a poet and artist from Nottingham, who serves as the founder and editor-in-chief. Under Glade's leadership, BlueBird Anthology has featured a diverse range of poets, including contributors like Ouranide, whose poem "I often wonder" was selected for the first issue. The journal's mission is to showcase poetry that not only reflects artistic expression but also engages with critical themes, fostering a deeper understanding of the world through the lens of contemporary poetry.
