The Story Prize

The Story Prize is a $20,000 book prize awarded to the author of the short story collection named best of the year by three independent judges. 

Eligibility for The Story Prize is limited to collections of short fiction (at least two stories and/or novellas) by a living author, written in English. Eligible books must be first publication of the work in the United States during the calendar year, in either hardcover or paperback, and available for purchase by the general public. / Eligible books may be entered by the publisher, agent, or author.

Collections must also include work previously unpublished in book form.

The deadlines for submitting books are July 1 for books published in the first half of the year and Nov. 15 for books published in the second half.
